Shop Laborers


Full Job Description Shop Laborers needed for in house steel & various metal projects. Job Duties

  • Assist welders and ironworkers in the day to day operations
  • Cleans work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site
  • Follows established safety rules and regulations and identify and correct potentially hazardous conditions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Works as a team player
  • Works nights or weekends if required by the work load
Qualifications
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Already or willing to become trained in CPR, OSHA regulations, crane hand signals, and licensed on equipment
  • Able to work as an effective member of a team and promote a positive working environment
  • Energetic and motivated to get a job completed accurately and efficiently
  • Must have driver’s license and be able to pass a background check.

Assembler


GST Manufacturing is seeking Assemblers for its Manufacturing and Retail Divisions. Qualified candidates will be mechanically inclined with relevant assembly experience, including reading simple blueprints/instructions and working with power tools and hand tools. Responsibilities 1. Work with production and assembly teams in the shop for final assembly and make ready of metal products such as projection windows, skids, ladders, control cabins, sinks, food service prep equipment, kiosks, retail merchandising units, displays, and other products.
2. Ensure that all products are built with quality and accuracy, in accordance with the approved drawings. Basic Qualifications 1. Prior experience in mechanical/sheet metal assemblies
2. Ability to read blueprints and assembly drawings
3. Basic knowledge of electrical assemblies and wiring a plus, but not mandatory
4. Valid driver’s license
5. Self-motivated and able to work alone or as a team
6. Able to work under pressure and put in long hours as project deadlines require
7. Work weekends and frequent overtime as required Compensation and Benefits Compensation is hourly and is commensurate with experience. Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Foreman


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Must be familiar with all types of steel erection, rigging, and stick welding.
  • Plan, coordinate and organize people, equipment, tools, and materials to promote the safe, efficient and timely construction of the prPrimary oject
  • Ensure that construction equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
  • Maintain accurate reporting records including time sheets, site inspection reports, and daily management reports
  • Responsible for timely completion of work assignments within the estimated costs while maintaining quality workmanship
  • Responsible for safety of those on the crew and will conduct all operations according to company and OSHA regulations
  • Will develop and maintain a proper crew attitude by conducting toolbox meetings and communicating safety concerns, work scope, plans and schedules with crews
  • Monitor compliance with all company and jobsite policies by all employees under his/her supervision
  • Must have proven knowledge of all aspects of installation and fabrication including the ability to read and understand complex engineered drawings and be able to visualize solutions to complex mechanical problems
  • Must be a good communicator, motivator, and team player while showing the highest level of self- initiative
  • Must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends and travel as the workload demands
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, be insurable and be able to pass a background check

Construction Detailer


We are seeking proficient AutoCAD users who have an understanding of commercial /
municipal steel construction, welding procedures and a desire to contribute in a team
environment. This opportunity places you in a design department that supplies
information to a fast-paced & fully capable AISC certified fabrication shop.
Basic Functions of the Job Include:

  • Above-average knowledge & proficiency of AutoDesk AutoCAD modeling software.
  • Familiarity with AISC design practices & standards.
  • Reading and interpreting construction drawings supplied by the general contractor or customer.
  • Providing full shop & erection drawings of structural steel framing – including stairs & railings, architectural elements & miscellaneous items.
  • Generating DXF files for CNC equipment.
  • Generating Bill of Materials for purchasing.
  • Generating Hardware lists for both shop & field use.
  • Maintaining quality workmanship in a timely fashion.

Minimum Qualifications:
  •  High School Diploma or equivalent, secondary education desired but not required
  •  No less than 2 years’ experience using AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT
  •  Background in construction or fabrication
  •  Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) recommended but not required
  •  Familiarity with SDS/2 steel modeling software a major plus
